The players from the wooden bat leagues weren't necessarily "better" players, although they are very experienced. I think they are just used to the bats, the weight, balance, etc. However that is just conjecture.

Also, a better wood bat would likely help drive the ball better. It seems wood bats were a recipe for singles. And the players who didn't alter their swings, popped out.

Nicely written and interesting.
It seems to me that players who use the wooden bats in a different league are the better players.
These are the ones that get more at bats and generally would hit better anyway.
The bats that were used in the Kingston league were of the $8 each variety.
Is there any info on what would be the results of using a "better" wooden bat?
