Mission October - World Series, Game Six
The series returned to Boston with the Red Sox with a 3-2 lead. Post season legend Curt Schilling opposed Philadelphia’s Kyle Kendrick.
Recap
Manny Ramirez’ homer keyed a 4 run Boston 4th. Facing elimination, the Phillies battled back with 2 runs in the 7th to make it 4-3. Pat Burrell’s groundout tied the game 4-4 in the 8th.
Philadelphia’s Shane Victorino singled home Jimmy Rollins in the top of the 9th to bring the Phillies within 3 outs of evening the series.
But, Boston was not done. The Phillies brought in their closer Brett Myers to face the heart of the Boston lineup. Myers struck out Kevin Youkilis, but David Ortiz followed with a single. Manny Ramirez drove the first pitch from Myers over Fenway’s green monster. The walk-off homer gave the Red Sox a 6-5 victory, bringing the championship to Boston!
Ramirez was understandably named series MVP with a .360 average, 4 homers and 9 RBI.

Thanks to everyone for reading this series!

The Red Sox where really looking good that year. I think if they could have gotten there act together, I think they had a good chance at the world series. I think the next couple years that they will have a really good shot and the world series.
