Mission October - World Series, Game Three

The Red Sox were forced to play David Ortiz at 1B in Philadelphia.  The matchup for game 3 saw two players with no World Series experience face off against each other.  The Phillies sent Kyle Lohse to the mound, with the Red Sox rookie Daisuke Matsuzaka as his counterpart.

Manny Ramirez’ 6th inning 2 run home run was all of the offense the Red Sox needed.  Daisuke Matsuzaka hurled a 5 hit shutout in the 2-0 win, giving Boston a 2-1 series lead.
